WYNAD WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Established in 1973,this sanctuary is the second largest in the state .
Geographic layout
Area : 344sq.kms,splayed out in the Wyanad and Kozhikode forest divisions abutting the western borders of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
CREDIBLE FEATURES : Seasonal changing hue of the flora,leafless autumns and the summer fall shades of pink,red and green juvenile leaves and flowers colour the whole of the reserve. Elephants,spotted deers,gaur,sambar,sloth bears,birds and reptiles.
Tourists can acess the woods by the jungle roads and accomodation is available Manantody and Sulan Battery. Kozhikode ,the nearest rail head is 111 kms from the sanctuary head quaters.
