PEPPARA WILDLIFE SANCTUARYEstablished in 1983,this sanctuary attracts many Wild Life enthusiasts and Ornithologists.
Geographic layoutArea : 53sq.kms, splayed out on the Western Ghats of Thiruvananthapuram Forest Division.
CREDIBLE FEATURES : Dotted with large hills and numerous hillocks with ever green and semi evergreen forests and eucalyptus plantations sheltering rich mammalian fauna and birds. Elephants, Sambars, Leopards and Lion-tailed macacqes are commonly seen. The close by Ponmudi is 61kms from TVM, a delightfull hill resort of 1000m elevation.Tourists can avail boarding and lodging facilities at the Tourist complex in cottages and dormitories.Trails marked by the Forest Dept will be of intrest for trekkers and hikers.
