PARAMBIKULAM WILDLIFE SANCTUARYEstablished in 1962 in the Sungam Range of Nenmara Forest Division.
Geographic layout
Area : 285sq.kms and strecthes around the Parambikulam, Thunakadavu and Peruvaripallam dams.
CREDIBLE FEATURES : An all in one sanctuary endowed with luxuriant vegetation of dense ever green and decidous forests with all kinds of magnificient Wild Life of the state. The reservoirs of the dams are rich in fish and shelter a good number of Crocodiles.
Tourists have boarding and lodging facilities at the sanctuary and forest rest houses at Thunakadavu, Thellikkal and Elathode. Thunakadavu is the sanctuary H.Q, 48kms from Pollachi, which is accessible from Coimbatore and Palghat.
