NEYYAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Established in 1958 ,this sanctuary houses a reservoir and the Agasthyagoodam of 1890m.

Area : 9.06sq.kms,spread out reservoir water.
CREDIBLE FEATURES : The tropical ,wet evergreen and grassland type of vegetation is congenial to a variety of critters like the Elephant, Gaur, Sloth bear, Nilgiri Thar, Jungle cat, Wild Dog, Wild Boar,Lion-tailed macacque, Nilgiri Langur and a rich bird life along with strikingly colourfull insects.Other features are -

A lion safari park
Tourists can avail accomodation facility at Neyyar in the Inspection Bunglow and Dormitory of the Irrigation Dept.The nearest railway station and Air port is in Thiruvananthapuram,32kms away.
