ERAVIKULAM WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Established in 1975 and crowned as a national park in 1978 ,this sanctuary accomodates Anamudi ,the highest peak in South India scaling about 2694m.

Geographic layout Area : 97sq.kms,splayed out in the Eravikulam-Rajamally areas of the Munnar forest division lying at the crest of the Anamalai range.

CREDIBLE FEATURES :The vast expanse of rolling grasslands with sholas in the mountain folds shelters the most endangered Nilgiri Thar and other animals like the Elephant, Sambar, Gaur,Lion-tailed macaque,Nilgiri Langur along with the occational tiger and leopard. Tourists can avail no accomodation facility in and around the park but the nearest town of Munnar.Rajamally, the head quarters of the park is 16kms from Munnar.Trekking is the only mode of acess to Rajamally.
